What is a Christian?

Is a Christian just someone who believes a God exists? What do Christians really believe? Is a Christian just a person that was born in a Christian Nation? Is a Christian simply a person that believes that their good deeds will get them to heaven? Is a Christian just someone who believes some of the stuff in God's Bible? Is a Christian just a person that lives a better life than most of the people in their business? The answer to these questions is in one word NO.

What is a Christian? The answer I'm happy to say is quite simple. A Christian is a person who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he came and died on the cross to take the penalty for their sins. John 3:16 (NIV) states: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:17 (NIV) goes on to say: “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:18 (NIV) says even more: “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”

What is a Christian? You see just believing there is a God or trying to be “good” is not enough. Jesus made this very clear when he said in John 14:6 (NIV): “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus declared that he is the only way to the Father. While the world thinks they can make their own way to heaven, Jesus made clear that it won’t work. We are told by this world that there are many ways to Heaven, but Jesus stated that he is the only way. The Bible says that multitudes of people will end up in Hell for believing the lies of the world. Are you ready to meet God?

God gave us the Ten Commandments to illustrate to us that we come short and can’t live the perfect life that he requires. What is a Christian? Not one of us can follow the Ten Commandments to perfection (which is what God requires). Ever since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden we have had a fallen and evil nature that is very often contrary to God’s nature. Jesus said if we look at a woman with thoughts of lust then we’ve committed adultery in our heart. He said if we are angry with a brother then we’ve committed murder in our heart. We cannot live up to God’s Ten Commandments. That is why Jesus became a man. He lived a perfect life. He was guiltless. He gave his life in our place and paid our debt in full if we will only believe in Him.

We all break the laws God set forth. We’ve all made bad decisions. We’ve all sinned against God. We’re all lost and pointed for hell in our natural bodies. Our only victory is in the Lord Jesus Christ who loved us enough to die for usand gave his life for us. He offers us a forgiven life with him for eternity and freedom from the debt we owe. What is a Christian? A Christian is any person who believes in Jesus and follows him. You can be a Christian this very today. It’s that easy! Talk to God today. Ask hime to forgive you and to come into your life and help you live for him. He will and you will be saved.

Then study your bible (I recommend starting with the New Testament as it pertains to Jesus life, death and resurection of Jesus) and find a good bible believing church to help you learn and strengthen your walk with God. Eternity is right around the corner. Make sure you are ready for it.

Is Jesus Real? He lived, He died and He Lives!

Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Is Jesus Real?
He is coming again to give great rewards to those who have believed and trusted in Him and to judge and condemn those who have not trusted in Him.
He has given His life for you. What greater love is there than this?
Confess your sins and ask Jesus to help you live for Him. No sin is too big for Jesus to forgive. Jesus will take you as you are.
Then read His word, the Holy Bible. I recommend that you start reading the new testiment to learn about Jesus and His teachings.

Is Jesus Real? If you confess you are a sinner, come to Jesus trusting in Him alone asking for forgiveness and asking Him to come into your life and to help you live for Him--He will, and You Will be Saved.

Jesus took the punishment for our sins upon himself when He died on the cross so that those who confess their sins and believe in Him will be saved.

There is no other way to be saved.

Is Jesus Real? Jesus is the way unto salvation!

No man is good enough on his own accord to earn or deserve heaven. We all deserve death for our sins. Jesus, God's own Son, came and died on a cross to pay for the sins of those who will believe in him. He took the punishment for my sins, and he took the punishment for your sins if you will just believe in him and ask him to come into your life and save you.

There are many false teachings spreading throughout the world as there have been throughout the centuries. Satan will do anything he can to turn people from the truth of God's word. More than 2 thousand years ago Joshua was faced with the same delima. He put it this way: "...choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."

I choose to stand with the Lord. He alone gives true peace and true hope in the things to come.
