Let’s look at a few of God’s Ten Commandments:
Have you ever lied? Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever cursed using God’s name? Have you ever looked at another person with thoughts of lust? Have you ever treated your parents wrong?
I don’t think there are many people that haven’t broken most of these five commandments. Everyone has broken at least one of them.
The Ten Commandments were given to us for two reasons:
1.) To show us the standards that God wants us to live by
2.) To show us that we are sinners and cannot live up to God’s standards
The Ten Commandments basically show us that we are condemned before God, and make us aware that we deserve to be punished for our transgressions. God, being Perfect and Just, cannot let sin go unpunished. Like fire has no choice but to consume paper, Gods Perfect Justice MUST be completed or he would be an Unjust God.
There is Good News though.
What is a Christian? God loves us so much that he has offered us a free pardon from the judgment and eternal punishment that is coming. This pardon is free to us, but it cost God dearly. He sent Jesus, His one and only Son, to die on a cross to take the penalty for our sins. Jesus died, and after three days, He rose from the dead conquering death and proving His Deity.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” John 3:16-18 NIV

Once we understand that we are sinners and are guilty under the perfect Law of God, we can take advantage of God’s gift of forgiveness. By believing and turning to Jesus we become innocent in God’s sight and able to take part in the wonderful promises that God has given us about Heaven. A Christian is someone who believes that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died on the cross some two thousand years ago to pay for their individual sins. A Christian has repented of their sins (turned from their sins) and is following Jesus. A Christian is no longer guilty in the eyes of God. A Christian will live with God as part of his family for eternity. The trials we faced in this life will be over and we will live in the presence of God Forever! The things we will learn and see are beyond my human imagination, and I can’t wait! Come quickly Lord Jesus.
Beware of False Teachings
Some say there are many ways to heaven. God says there is One way & that ALL others lead to death & destruction!
Remember, God is perfectly Just! If you were to stand before a judge here on earth for breaking a law, the judge would be determining you sentence based on the law you broke not the fact that you did 3 good deeds that day.
Life is not a balancing scale where you are balancing your good deeds against your bad. Jesus is the only one who has lived a perfect sinless life and it because he shed His innocent blood for us that we can be forgiven!
God the Father wouldn’t have sent His one and only Son to be beaten, mocked, tortured and then killed on a cross if there was another way for us to make it to Heaven with him.
Facts About God:
- God is Perfect!
- God is Love!
- God Hates Sin!
- God is 100% Just and is coming back soon to judge all sin.
- Hell is Everlasting!
- Heaven is Everlasting!
- God wants us in Heaven!
- There is Only One Way to Heaven!
According to God
No Man is good enough to make it to heaven on his own accord! Heaven is not something we can earn. It is a free gift from God for those who believe in Jesus, ask for His forgiveness turn from their sins and follow him!
